JEMA 2023
DESIGN THAT LIVES IN THE CRAFT
MARCH 27TH – APRIL 2ND

Domaine de Boisbuchet, on the occasion of the JEMA 2023, presented the exhibition “Design That Lives In The Craft” which was held from March 27 to April 2, in the characteristic village of Confolens. This temporary exhibition was meant to show the bridges between folklore and modernity, between views and disciplines.
The European Crafts Days are a unique and free event in the world in favour of better recognition of the crafts sector. This event took place from March 27 to April 2 2023, throughout France and Europe, around the theme “Sublimating the every day”!
Even though a large part of craftsmanship has been supplanted by industrial production, it is an essential expression of our culture that is gaining relevance. This is particularly evident in high-quality, long-lived objects: from fashion and furniture to the construction and maintenance of architecture. Showcasing perennial pieces and tools ranging from a variety of styles and techniques from the collection of the Domaine de Boisbuchet, the exhibition aimed to show the inevitable bridges between the tangible and intangible aspects of crafts and design.
