BOISBUCHET RESIDENCY PROGRAMME
ALEXANDER LIBOTTE
SEASON 2021
Alex Libotte is a creative director and photographer currently living and working in Berlin. His practice uses analogue photography to work with different processes within design and the visual arts, mainly shooting still-life as well as conceptual projects. Clients include L’Occitane au Brésil, The Coca cola Company, Itaú Bank, as well as Natural Cosmetics. He has had publications in Kaza Magazine, Mundial Magazine, Delta Airlines Sky Magazine, as well as Vogue Brazil Online.
Based on a daily meditative practice, Alex went inwards for the context of his studies as part of his residency, connecting himself to the flow of making, experimenting, and developing techniques for design and image making. By capturing the landscape of the Domaine through his analogue camera, principally in black-and-white, as well as producing a short stop-motion film, Alex’s goal was to end the residency with a more defined voice as a visual artist, creative and mentor.
“Based on a daily meditative practice, Alex went inwards for the context of his studies as part of his residency, connecting himself to the flow of making, experimenting, and developing techniques for design and image making.”
It was the second time Alex had been to Boisbuchet, first coming in 2004 as a participant for the ‘Inflatables’ workshop led by the Brazilian designers Humberto and Fernando Campana.
