BOISBUCHET RESIDENCY PROGRAMME
HAYDÉE TOUITOU
SEASON 2021
Haydée Touitou is a poet, writer, translator, and editor, based in Paris. She began writing in 2014 when she started working for Apartamento magazine. Over the following years, she has developed her practice in fiction and poetry with her work appearing in multiple publications. Defining her writing as dumb poetry, Haydée views literature as amusingly incoherent.
In 2017, Haydée co-founded The Skirt Chronicles, a publication exploring photography, literature, fashion, culture, and beyond. As co-editor-in-chief, Haydée selects the writers as well as taking care of the distribution of the magazine in over one hundred points of sale throughout the world, from Paris and Los Angeles to Buenos Aires and Bangkok. In 2018, The Skirt Chronicles was awarded the Editor of the Year prize at the Stack Awards in London.

In March 2020, We Have Been Meaning To, a book of poetry by Haydée with photographs by Marie Déhé was published by Art Paper Editions. The pair followed a year later with a poster published by September Books titled “Self-Help”. Haydée’s poems are also exhibited at Librairie Yvon Lambert in Paris as well as in California at BOOK/SHOP where she curates a selection of French literature under Librairie Haydée.
As part of her residency at Boisbuchet, Haydée experimented with the concept of a still life poem, resulting in two upcoming books, In Constant Hilarity with ‘Thoughts Of Me Press’ and Still Life Poems.
