Lucas Muñoz Muñoz Spain
Lucas Muñoz is a designer based between his hometown Madrid and Eindhoven. His career ranges through an ample variety of projects produced from one of his ateliers in those countries, or locally in different places in the world, having developed contextualized work in territories such as India, South Korea, Lebanon or Thailand, in addition to many European ones.
Lucas has extensively developed unique and limited pieces of furniture, together with many other experimental ones such as sound systems, boats or skateboards. Lucas has materialized exhibition and interior design projects with which he always managed to develop an extended understanding of his profession. Examples of these, within the last year, are his restaurant project MO de Movimiento in Madrid (for which he received the FRAME Award for Best Use of Material and the Dezeen Award for Most Sustainable Interior), or the sociological study The Rocket Trail (for which he received the Talent development grant by the Dutch cultural fonds, Stimuleeringfonds) that he translated into an exhibition, an archive and a docufilm conceptualized, co-directed and produced by him.

The Workshop
It's time to prepare for the future and re-prototype the approach to the context that has shaped who we are. This isn’t a start from scratch, nor a preparation for the apocalypse; rather, it’s a continuation of a profound calling rooted in the very essence of our genetic makeup.
We could argue that our growing dependence on advanced technologies has revealed the fragility of our social reliance, exposing vulnerabilities in the ways we live, create, and interact with our surroundings. But we could also celebrate the vast amount of knowledge just a scroll away, readily available through various algorithms. If you’re passionate about craft, you’ve likely accumulated a wealth of techniques and tips from our global community of like-minded souls. So here it is, the summer of love—let's bring them all together and forge new ones of our own.
We are hacking Boisbuchet! In our workshop, we aim to rethink the (non)human-context relationships by focusing on ingenuity, resilience, and the revitalization of fundamental skills deeply rooted in human history. By exploring how we have traditionally met basic needs—such as building shelter, navigating, transporting goods, and making tools—participants will engage in both critical and hands-on exploration of self-sufficiency.
Taking place in Boisbuchet's unique setting, the workshop encourages participants to explore the rich interplay between natural and designed aspects of the Domaine. The nearby river and lake encourage explorations on energy and movement, while the gardens and grounds demonstrate the cycles of growth, maintenance and renewal. The presence of domestic and farm animals emphasises the interdependence between humans and nature and provides opportunities to reflect on how traditional practices of homesteading and cohabitation contribute to sustainable living. Participants will also investigate the roles of local materials and ecosystems and the delicate balance required to harmonise human needs and environmental protection.
Together we will translate these considerations into practical projects and use Boisbuchet as a laboratory in which the possibilities of self-sufficient living can be tested. By the end of the week, you will have addressed key questions through practical discovery: What knowledge did we lose when we delegated our autonomy? How can the act of making reconnect us with the rhythms of nature and our own physicality? In what ways can scarcity and limitation encourage innovation? No prior knowledge is required - just curiosity and a willingness to challenge conventional thinking.
