2.0 Introduction

We know that trees need water to regulate their energy needs in their bodies and to carry out photosynthesis, which releases oxygen. But beyond the simple absorption of water through their roots to ensure their existence, trees also interfere in the capture of water during rainfall and in its redistribution between the air and the earth. They influence the climate, stabilise the course of water in the soil, purify our water – and much more.
