NUOVO GRAND TOUR – ROME 2022

Domaine de Boisbuchet was honoured to be presenting at the Nuovo Grand Tour 2022, produced and designed by L’Institut de France en Italie (IFI) at the Palazzo Farnese in Rome, Italy.

The Nuovo Grand Tour is a project initiated by the French Institute of Italy and the French Embassy in Italy. It is a programme of residencies for young artists in Europe, spread throughout Italy. It is inspired by the historical tradition of the Grand Tour, founded in the 17th century, which allowed young people to discover the artistic heritage and to further their education.
In 2022, 50 young people from France and Germany from all fields of creativity (visual arts, performing arts, architecture, design, etc.) took part in the adventure. Their stays were planned to last from two weeks to four months, following a personalised path. The conference presented the participants’ experiences, discussed the role of mobility in cultural relations in Europe and discussed the professionalization of emerging artists. It was also an opportunity to lay the foundations for the next edition: in 2023, the project will be extended to other European countries.

Our founder, Alexander Von Vegesack and our director, Mathias Schwartz-Clauss were cordially invited to the programme to present and talk about Boisbuchet’s welcoming residency programs under the artistic residencies and valorisation of territories, and showcase the Domaine’s heritage and history as a place where design, architecture, creativity and nature thrive in harmony. This day of exchanges was particularly rich and gave the attendees the opportunity not only to bring together the actors of this programme, but also to imagine its future, a future that will be even more European, as had been underlined many times throughout the day.
