AGATA LAUTERBACH

Agata Lauterbach (née, Anna Maleska) is a Polish-born architect, designer and artist, currently based in Germany. As an architect, she has developed projects in Sydney, London, Bern and in Cologne, focusing on large scale designs. Whilst as an artist Agata enjoys operating on a smaller scale, experimenting with different materials such as wood and metals, and exploring the effect of everyday items when placed into a new context.
Coming to Boisbuchet, Agata wanted to deepen her pencil studies. Intrigued by the contrast between the wood and the powerful colors, she started using pencils as objects. She tested different techniques in order to transform the pencils into images. With the technical support and facilities at the workshop, Agata was then able to find various solutions to create different designs and shapes.
