FRAN FRACA TARANCÓN
SEASON 2021
Fran Fraca is a designer based in San Sebastian. . His design office ‘FFraca’ designs solutions for contemporary life, focusing on the research and conceptualization, developing its own design process for each project. FFraca has worked on projects from various design fields for a wide variety of institutions, brands, and individuals since 2010.
During his residency Fran developed his sketches and ideas for lighting and electronics. He designed three prototype light fixtures, with one currently in production for a lighting exhibition in San Sébastien.
This lamp is based on the paper din format, where the idea was to design a light metal piece to hold a din A4 paper piece, much like Isamu Noguchi’s iconic Akara 120 A hanging lamp. At the same time, Fran is continuing to develop the two other prototypes he produced in his residency, on top of his work at ‘FFraca’.
