YANA YANAKIEVA

Yana Yanakieva is an international wine expert, based in Bordeaux, France, with 15 years’ worth of experience in the French wine industry. She studied d’unité commerciale spécialisée Vins & Spiritueux at IPC Bordeaux. Her company, Wine Fluently, organises luxury wine tours in the vineyards and chateaux of the terroirs of France, and of Bordeaux in particular, exploring the history, gastronomy and art of fine wine. She has worked at Château La Gaffelière in Saint-Emilion and at Château Pichon-Longueville in Pauillac. Yana is also an accomplished artist, having just recently participated in a group exhibition at Château de Rayne-Vigneau in Sauternes. Since working as a marketing and communications manager at Chateau Mary France Wine in China in 2012, her work has been particularly influenced by Central and East Asia. Her artistic practice seeks to explore new ways of connecting nature and gastronomy. For Yana, creativity is an integral part of her everyday life as it expresses itself in everything she does.

For her residency at Boisbuchet. Yana presented a series of images representing the “Emperor’s Table”, created using materials found on-site at Boisbuchet. The project was accompanied by small poems relating to the ingredients of the work, such as feathers, fruits, moss, and flowers. As an associate member of Escoffier International, Yana also documented her food experiences at Boisbuchet, photographing the food and exploring the seasonal fruit found on the Domaine.
