Space Caviar Italy
Space Caviar is an architecture and research studio operating at the intersection of design, technology, politics, and the public realm. Founded in 2013, the office uses built work, exhibitions, publishing, writing, and film to investigate and document contemporary modes of habitation and the spatialization of social and political practice. Space Caviar’s work has been shown at the Venice Biennale, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Triennale di Milano, Biennale Interieur, Vitra Design Museum, and Nilufar Gallery, among others. Led by partners Joseph Grima and Sofia Pia Belenky, Space Caviar has collaborated with some of the most renowned international brands, institutions, and individual clients to design and curate world-class architecture projects that have been experienced by millions of people.

The Workshop
There is a long history of the camera obscura effect as a tool for understanding the world around us; from theories about small holes in animal hide inspiring palaeolithic cave paintings, to pinhole images used for early astronomical observation, and as drawing tools to produce highly accurate representations and perspectives.
Our tools for observation made during the week-long workshop will temporarily capture the surroundings and transform them into representations through a curatorial lens. These mirrorings, questionings, and inversions of "nature" will become sets for performance, storytelling, and photography experiments.
The results of this week-long workshop shall form a 3-dimensional publication and exhibition.
