Caro Diario (FR)
Pique-Nique au Pays des Merveilles
August 13th – August 19th 2023
The Workshop
The term picnic stems from 17th century France where a pique-nique took place when everyone contributed snacks for a convivial outdoor meal - simple, set up on the land, and in a celebratory atmosphere where the venue is as important as the snacks.
Based on a selection of light and easy-to-carry food, the picnic is traditionally accompanied by various beverages, cutlery and a blanket, all carried in a wooden or wicker basket. For this workshop's picnic we'll get to know the rich variety of food of the Charente, and Boisbuchet's surroundings idyllically located on the banks of the Vienne and Charente rivers.
We'll explore these local ingredients and their sources for our innovative recipes, flavours, forms of serving and ways of consumption. We'll design a complete experience from our overall conception to the food and the atmosphere of a giant picnic on Boisbuchet's lands open to everyone!
Caro Diario France
Zélikha Dinga is a French cook inspired by the generosity of Italian cuisine and the classic beauty of French pastries. Zélikha finds magic in the act of transforming the raw ingredients that occurs while cooking, then in the act of tasting that follows like an everyday banal performance. And yet poetic.
She created Caro Diario, a culinary project aiming to unite food and aesthetics to serve unconventional creative projects. Events, performances, content or presentations, these projects are frequently commissioned by actors from the world of fashion, art and design.
